    Mare Nectaris (evening)

On Saturday evening, April 13, the terminator on the waxing crescent moon
will land just to the west of Mare Nectaris “the Sea of Nectar”. This relatively small, 339 km wide, lunar basin is visible with unaided eyes and binoculars. Telescope views tonight will reveal wrinkle ridges and a textured floor in the western parts of Nectaris’ floor. The basin’s southern rim is interrupted by the large, inundated crater Fracastorius. At the opposite, northern edge sits the small, sharp-rimmed crater Madler. Watch for the
nearly submerged ghost crater Daguerre in the mare’s northeast.
