Had a pretty good view of it today. Clear skies. Looked like a crescent moon
I've seen
them a few times in my lifetime. Always a thrill!
Here, we were not in the full totality path but not too far from it. Skies were clear when it started, and I got a good view of the first real "bite"
the Moon took out of the Sun.
From about halfway to total, it was too cloudy here to see anything.
However, just as total was ending, the clouds started parting and you could catch glimpses of the cresent Sun. That was pretty neat.
It stayed clear through most of the rest of it. I did step out one more
time to see it about half-over.
I saw the full one in 2017 from an area where the totality lasted nearly 3 minutes. That was neat but unfortunately I spent too much time trying to
take photos (that didn't really catch what it looked like) and not enough
time just enjoying it. During an eclipse, 3 minutes passes really quick!
