I do love gardening. This year I planted a small garden with some potatoes, beans, and corn, watermelons, and some peanuts. My wife planted some tomoatoes and stuff in her raised beds. The year started off good as I had a nice crop of potatoes and snap beans. I also had a nice crop of sweet corn. Then it all went south! My neigbors have some horses that tend to get out on a daily bases and aparantly they enjoyed my garden! I went out to check on my peas and found that they had eaten all of the plants right down to the ground!
I've always had trouble with the watermelons getting lost in the weeds, so this year I layed out a huge tarp and cut some holes where I planted the watermelons. It seemed to be dong good, but my daughter has a "teenage" dog that aparantly loves to play with watermelons!
As for my peanuts, I've yet to find any of them. I think I didn't plant them deep enough.
