Thank you :) I was pleasantly surprised how quickly i got this up and running.
it is a pain to configure FTN's on SynchroNet.. at least that is my opinion.

I figured that it would be fairly easy for you since you have a number of other nets on
your board. Good job!
Feel free to post to your hearts content. I enjoy learning about someone by the posts
that they make.
Mike,
It was a long lesson in humility!!! FidoNet was kind of automated but others had to be setup manually. I had a lot of help in the beginning and a ton
of failure!!! FSXNet took about 2 weeks of trial and error. The good thing is
that I tend to forget how to do things over time so I documented all the steps
when I went through the TQWNet setup. There is a word document on my website for setting up TQWNet on Synchronet BBS's but the document works with every other network that I setup since. That way, if there is a person going crazy in
the future setting up an FTN on SynchroNet, they can download that document that has nice pretty pictures and step by step direction. By the time I setup
HobbyNet though, I finally memorized the steps!!!! :) Feel free to use the document if you know of anyone having issues. SynchroNet has config items all
over the place. It is in many different areas. I hear Mystic is much easier (I
never used Mystic as a sysop)..

I would be happy to add your setup document to my site. Could you email it to me at:

I will credit you with creating it.

For FTN it might be. It is the opposite when it comes to QWK networking, especially if you want to be a hub.
Welcome to Hobbynet!

Mike,
If you like, I can modify the document fo reflect a setup for HobbyNet.
Right now it is specific to TQWNet but the steps are the same.. I will just need to update the graphics and some names.. It may take a few days.

Mike,
You may be correct. I am way to afraid to go down that path!! lol :) Just the thought of being a hub scares me!!! lol
DaveW
I found it very easy to hub using Mystic. Just a few steps and you are done. It takes
me about 5 minutes to set up a new node with Mystic; about 20 minutes with Winserver.

That's not necessary. Be sure to add credit to yourself before sending it to me. Give
credit where credit is due.

Mike,
I have been curious about starting a small FTN with a couple of friends
that are also sysops. They have Amiga BBS's. You now have me curious!!! lol :)
DaveW
The thing about starting one is: Is there an audience? It sounds like there is, since you
already have friends that re willing to participate.
With my Winserver system, I have the ability to create a profile that is dedicated to a
specific group. I have 2 profiles set up for 2 different customers. They have their own
private intranet where they can log in and communicate with each other, share files, etc.
This may be the way to go. Instead of a network, use one of your systems to allow your
buddies to log in with a profile dedicated to your Amiga hobby.
Just a thought.
