Howdy! I just got added to the network this week. Aside from running a
BBS, my hobbies include model railroading and some video editing.

Model railroading has been something I was into when I was a kid and
received a trainset for a birthday or Christmas. I grew out of it for a
while but then picked it up again in my early 20's. Other financial and
time responsibilities kept me from it for quite a while but I am starting
it up again. I will post about that some in other echoes.

The video editing is a more recent thing that I started during the
pandemic. Sort of a more modern version of the uncle with the boring
    vacation slides. ;)

    Thanks!
    Mike

One of the best Christmas gifts my brothers and I received as a kid was an HO trainset
in the basement of our house. I used it every day and never tired of it. My dad set the
whole thing up with some help from his friends, so I wasn't involved in the set up.

Fast forward to me and my young son years later. I knew he would like it and we spent
several years putting it together. It was fun to make occasional trips to the stores to
purchase the track, signals, lights, grass, etc.

Once the table was completed, we spent some time enjoying the fruits of our labors.
Then, we soon got a little bored with it. The real fun was the project itself!

My wife and I moved into a gated area 8 years ago. They actually have a beautiful
model train room with everything you could imagine. Maybe someday I will get back
    into it.
