  • Hurricane Update

    My wife is urging me to consider travelling to Georgia to stay with friends due to the
    impending storm. This is actually the first time since we moved to Florida that I am
    actually considering it.

    We have been through a lot of hurricanes during that time, but for some reason my
    spidey-sense is warning me on this one.

    If we do go to Georgia, it will be sometime Tuesday and we would return when we know
    it is safe.

    My hobbylinebbs.com is collocated on an independent server and should not be affected.
    The mystic-hobbies.com server runs on a home server and may be affected by a potential power outage.

    I can monitor it remotely, unless power outage takes it down.

    You are DIRECTLY in the path of this hurricane, which was just upgraded
    to a CATEGORY FIVE.

    Get out, now. In 12-18 hours the roads out of there will be a parking
    lot.

    Please move until the storm is over. I saw a news article on CNN and they're predicting a storm surge of up to 4.5M. Which is huge. Power off your server at home and take it with you. It is better to be safe.

    I don't think anyone would blame you for wanting to head to higher ground
    for this one. With Helene still fresh in people's minds, I don't think
    anyone sensible is going to ignore this one.
