It's not really a big deal. Just some leftists are angry because the US government will no longer guarantee abortion rights, and they're trying
to encourage other Americans to be angry too. It's a pity-party and everyone's invited.

More like it's a distraction from the way that they have been destroying the economy, energy industry, food industry, etc

It's a lot to distract from. Supposedly the new trend is Democrats
blaming everything on Biden, and that's what the herd will swallow.
you and I both know that all this destruction isn't just from Biden. So
it worries me to see other Democrats trying to be heroes by distancing themselves from Biden. They're all in on this together and they're
going to trick more idiots with "Biden's bad but I'm good."

Did you know that sometimes snakes eat their own babies? But snakes are wonderful creatures, right?
The Dem's cheating in the last election was large, but it only produced a slim
margin to allow Biden to win in some key races. With the number of Dems switching, they won't be able to do that again.

Which is why the distraction is not working and too many used-to-be Democrats are switching.

I don't know that the net result will be too much different. The last numbers I saw made it look like over a million Democrats had switched registrations. However, a whole bunch of Republicans had also. While
the net result was a gain for the Republicans, it was closer to
300-400K, meaning that a lot of Republicans are changing, too.

I haven't heard of much Republican switching. The information that I've seen has shown large gains for Republicans only.
Polls, even the Left-leaning ones, are showing that people are fed up with how
the Dems are wrecking everything.
But there's a feeling in my mind that, like me, most people are no longer voting party. We've been fed up with RINOs and other Republicans who betrayed
our trust. I'm voting for the candidate - not the party he affiliates with.

I do that now. The straight-ticket voters I know are Democrats, and
there is no way they are voting for any Republicans, no matter how bad things get under slow Joe.
Energy industry is a joke in both California and Texas.
They want us to electrifiy our cars, but the electric grid is a freaking joke.
Do you even know, that by night electricity is almost free -- all
over the world! By day the cost raises by magnitudes. Do you think that
it costs 10-100 times more to produce electricity in the middle of the day, than in the middle of the night? Do I have to explain it to you?

That should be a wake up call: Fox News is full of it, at least with their "polls." They're probably polling the racist dudes from the comments section.

But, but, but this story said that people are also changing from Republican to Democrat, and we all know 'cause Jeff-T told us so, that racists only change TO Republicans and Democrats are never racists.
LOL!
Sigh! Is there no end to the total ignorance by you MAGA idiots? HowI live in California. We have energy blackouts due stuff like public safety power shutoffs due to high winds. We also are trying to decomission nautural gas and nuclear which is going to cause problems.
can you compare California and Texas when it comes to energy supply?
He's got some weird philosophy about "the Democrats of yesterday are today's
Republicans." Of course it makes no sense, but he said it like 6x so he really wants it to be the truth. (I heard that if you say a lie enough times,
eventually it becomes truth.)

In his defense, at least back when Lyndon Johnson took office, in Texas there was indeed a very notable shift from the Democrat Party to the Republican Party. A few years ago I watched a documentary about George
H. W. Bush and it mentioned the political difficulties he faced after
LBJ became President. Bush, being a long-time Republican, found the demographics of his party in his home state shifting rather quickly when
a lot of Democrats, who did not like LBJ's social policies, suddenly switched parties.
This is another case of mom's basement syndrome: stuff isn't the same everywhere. I know what you're talking about because my electric company (NYSEG) offers a daytime rate and a night time rate. But other electric companies (like PNM) don't do that; they charge the same rate no matter what time it is. (What works for Bjorn doesn't work for everyone.)
"All over the world!" <- You're funny! You should say "All the
receptacles in mom's basement."

What *only* works for Aaron, isn't the way it works for most of the rest of the world, or even rest of the USA.
How many do you have to choose from, in that Paradise Freedom of

That's how it's done out here in Leftist Socialist Slavery Hell,
where We the People own the infrastucture, and also via democratic (no gerrymandering, no Electoral College, no filibuster, not even a Senate) elections make sure we have absolutely no corruption (like bribes
renamed to donations).
Our infrastructure is open to any company, public and private alike, welcome to compete on equal terms. That's what *true* capitalism means

Democrat officials or democrat voters?
I'm confused; was there a time when
Democrats were the ones trying to help the American people? And when they found out they were lied to, then they switched to Republican?
In other states, I think the Democrat party may have split and given rise to some briefly-lived third parties for the Dixiecrats to turn to.
So Jeff-T's claims, when made against the backdrop of 1960's Texas politics, are based on true events.

What's with you leftist guys? Talking snotty is the only way to talk?
There's a mix of everything here. Different regions have different electric
companies. Some states allow alternative suppliers and some don't. NYSEG is
the only electric company for my region, but there are alternative suppliers.
I haven't considered switching suppliers though, because some of them are dishonest (they sign people up without their consent.)
How many do you have to choose from, in that Paradise Freedom of
yours?
In NY there are several suppliers, I don't know how many, but I don't speak
with them because I don't trust them. The same goes for the broadband internet; I stick with the monopolized provider because they are
reputable and affordable.
That's nice. Your country is better than mine.

And then there are Swedish meatballs, which are a whole new ballgame.
I'll let Bjrn tell you all about what those are like ...
Italians make better meatballs though.
The ones that you have tasted, you mean? When did you visit Italy? And Sweden? Have you even visited an IKEA store and tasted genuine Swedish meatballs? I mean, so you can compare. Or is this yet another one of the "facts" that you've heard on your local media?

Thank you, and please accept my profound condolences for living in one of the most corrupt union of states on this planet.
What do you mean "one of the most corrupt"?
The USA has the best politicians money can buy.
What other country(s) can compete for that title?
Is there any other country that can even come close?
Please. Do tell.

Well, corruption is a complex phenomenon and can occur on different scales.
Corruption ranges from small favours between a small number of people (petty corruption), to corruption that affects the government on a large scale (grand corruption), and corruption that is so prevalent that it is part of the everyday structure of society, including corruption as one of the symptoms of organized crime (systemic corruption). (from Wikipedia)
In many respects, USA *is* probably #1, but not in all. Yet.
Corruption is not only about money, it can also be about power, albeit the one usually tends to lead to the other. But at least the citizens of the USA still have a theoretical chance to turn the tide. So not #1. Yet.
As someone said, one measure of corruption could be body-fat amongst the lawmakers -- that at least covers the former Soviet Union and North Korea. Trump may be a sign...
