The only difference between a sovereign nation and a territory held by
foreign lands would seem to be the aggressor's opinion on whether the

Climate change is Kerry's bailiwick. Of course he's going to hope that Putin will keep Russia focused on reducing climate change even as he wages war.
Wars in general are not very environmentally friendly, but the vast majority
of Russia is not directly affected by the war. Sanctions might make it very difficult to keep up with climate change efforts, though.

Tuberville is one of just 100 people in the US Senate. He should know basic facts about the major countries of the world. In this case, his
misinformation was also used as a building block to (incorrectly) explain the reason Russia invaded Ukraine. US policy is dependent on correct information, whether Tuberville writes legislation or simply votes on it.

I agree. IMHO, he tried treating Putin more as an equal than an enemy,

What everyone expected was for Putin to invade the two eastern areas which were controlled by Russian Seperatists. Putin originally said that he declared those sections to be sovereign entities, and since the people controlling those entities wanted Russia to come in and assume control, it was a way for Putin to say that he wasn't invading Ukraine.

His actions since then make no sense whatsoever, unless you consider the speech he gave the day before the invasion, where he basically told us that he wanted to rebuild the Soviet empire, and said that Lenin and Stalin were foolish and too soft.

I plan to enjoy every day I have, to the best of my ability. With 5 dogs and
a loving partner, it's not difficult. While I was away, I signed up for the America's Test Kitchen website, which has the most amazing recipes. I've also been working on the next iteration of my electronic herb garden, which will have a display unit/alarm separate from the sensor unit. The sensor unit will have light, temperature, humidity, and 8 soil moisture sensors, as well as a camera (one sensor unit per 8 plants). The light, temperature, and soil moisture readings will be monitored via WiFi by the display unit, which will display graphs and photos while idle, but will display warnings in the event that a reading exceeds allowable parameters. It will also send out a tweet
via its own Twitter account describing the problem, and that will cause an alert on my phone.

Does it sound like I'm having any lack of enjoyment in my life?

What you are not taking into account is that Ron is repeats the same old
lines accusing "lefties" of this or that generic fault. The truth is
that usually those lines apply much more to the alt-Right than to
liberals. In addition, he rarely has discourse with anyone other than

of having an intelligent conversation with anyone who is not in his

Here's a different point of view, for your consideration. Any time Ro (among others) dares to utter the word 'Leftie', you start doing your parrot impression. It's almost as if you're ridiculing him for his stance, rather than joining him in debate, which implies that you are unwilling or unable to have the intelligent conversations that you mentioned earlier.

What you are not taking into account is that Ron is repeats the same old lines accusing "lefties" of this or that generic fault. The truth is
that usually those lines apply much more to the alt-Right than to liberals. In addition, he rarely has discourse with anyone other than those he perceives to be as conservative as he is, I.E.,he is incapable
of having an intelligent conversation with anyone who is not in his
camp.

You may be right. I did mention that I hadn't read the entire conversation
when I decided to offer my two cents. It is quite possible that I am being
too hard on Jeff. But only because I expect more from such an intelligent individual. (Yes, Jeffie, you read that right...(o_-) )

I get your point, sir. However, I only objected because I saw disrespect.
Sure, it wasn't to the point of two monkeys flinging poo at each other, but
it was (IMHO) disrespect of another's opinion, which is something that really bothers me. I will try (harder) not to be the moderator in the future. After all, you're doing a fine job already!

somehow doubt that if Ron said "Many/most lefties are always... " something, that would stop you from the Ron-as-a-parrot impersonations.

They are much different from generalizations if they're true. They also acknowledge that it's not a blanket trait of the group being generalized about.

Ron believes his generalizations are true, just like you believe that yours are.

In many cases, it would be more accurate to say "the loudest righties/lefties do <annoying/bad/horrible thing here>," or "the righties/lefties that are in charge of the government are doing <annoying/ bad/horrible thing here>," or "the righties/lefties that are bashing/defending Biden/Trump/whoever the loudest are <annoying/bad/horrible thing here>."

Perhaps. In other circumstances, it might be appropriate to say that the most extreme lefties/righties believe this or that.

Loudest, most extreme... yes, they both fit.
