Title: Cape Cod Cranberry Scones

Yield: 16 Scones
2 1/2 c Flour
2 1/2 ts Baking powder
1/2 ts Baking soda
3/4 c Butter
1 c Cranberries; coarse chopped
2 ts Orange peel; grated
2/3 c Sugar
1/2 c Buttermilk or sour milk
Set oven @ 400ºF/205ºC.
In mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder and baking
soda; cut in butter with pastry blender or two knives.
Stir in cranberries, orange peel and sugar; stir in
buttermilk just until ingredients are moistened. working
on floured surface, shape dough into two 8" circles, 1/2"
thick. Cut each circle into eight wedges and place on
ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until lightly browned.
