[snip]Okay, the owner of the company was given my proposal on Thursday
the 26th. am hoping to be able to have a meeting with him and my direct boss sometime early this coming week... Hopefully the
outcome will be good.
Good luck. I had to job transition 2 months ago. Like the old one very well but it's moved to Millington TN.
Thanks very much Carol. Sure good to see you're still around Fido[snip]
after so many years. Stay well.
I am, slower than long ago, but still here, running a quiet little net275.
About the same here, net 396 is down to just my node and the fido<>internet gate. Two of the other nodes have literally died and the third and fourth we MIA. Bummer.
Took a job transition 3 mnths ago and having all sorts of fun with learning curve (grin). Now working at NAVIFOR because my NETC job moved to Millington TN and after 26 years of Navy moves, I'm over
that. Was a bit touch and go on finding one for a bit but got one. GS13 roles are fairly thin on the ground....
Hmmm. NAVIFOR. Now that's really interesting. You're lucky; like you said, t way things are now, GS13 roles are probably more scarce than hen's teeth. I glad for you.
Still catching up on new one.
I'm sure you'll be up to speed in no time!
As far as my situation goes, I'm still awaiting that meeting with the owner. the meantime, he's instructed HR to keep me on full time and instructed my direct boss to start making preparations to get my department up on the web various places. Makes sense; you can't sell from a full wagon if nobody can see the wagon. So now, I'm just sort of biding my time until my boss gets u off his duff and does as instructed. Only time will tell. I made my position clear and my offer - someone has to follow-through as I can't possibly do everything, particularly advertising.
Best regards,
Marc

Good luck on it! I can't recall what you do for a living?
Obviously some sort of production of a sellable product.
Mine's normally called 'Data Analyst', 'Program Analyst', or
'Program Manager'. Can't complain on the pay but finding the jobs
can be very difficult. My age is actually somewhat of an
advantage.... (grin). Hours are long and lots of off the clock
study (can't charge for it very often unless on travel).
Made a new friend this week. Duncan McCloud. Name gives us a
little giggle but he's good hearted about it.

Carol, I'm a Certified Electronics Technician, Audio and Industrial Controls Journeyman level.
My boss has indeed made one small step towards the advertising of the Servic Centre - a Facebook page... not much, but at least a start. I think he'll ne a LOT of "prodding" to follow-through with other media... Time will tell.

Can't remember if you're Civilian or a Naval Officer?
Military would have been my first choice of careers. (Hell, I'd be a retired Commander or higher by now) had it not been for f*****g type 1 diabetes; nob would touch me with a ten-foot pole. Life tends to suck in many but not all respects.

At least it wasn't spelled MacLeod and he doesn't look like Adrian Paul <gri
Best regards,

LCDR equal but it's a bit blurry at those levels where can be CDR job easily. (O5 for the rest). Military is equally blurry at LCDR/CDR.

You expect anyone outside the US military (which is 99,9% of Fidonet) to understand any of this?

No, but it was a message to a person who had some level of military background or inclinatons at one time.
