Hello Everybody,
The FIDE World Chess Championship, being held in Dubai
from November 24 - December 16 between GMs Magnus Carlsen
(current champion) and (challenger) Ian Nepomniachtchi,
after having played five games, is currently tied 2.5 to 2.5
- with game six coming up.
Carlsen managed to defend his title in 2018 against an
American upstart, who took him into overtime, after a series
of all draws. Now he faces a challenge from a Russian upstart.
And so far, the match has been all draws. Will the end be yet
another apocalyptic finish, with Carlsen finally winning a
game in overtime? Or will the man from Bryansk find a way to
do what no other player has managed to do since the days of
oh when was the last time any player from Russia ever won
the title?
