And, it seems, people don't care as much about cleaning up after themselves as they used to. I remember seeing signs put up by DOT
advising a $50. fine for littering. That would barely faze a lot of
people now' keeping up with inflation rates, maybe a $500. fine would
be more of a deterant. Main problem tho, is catching the litterbug in action.

A decade or two ago the fine for parking in a handicap spot without a valid permit was $50. Now it is $340. And they do enforce it from
time to time. I can recall that once a police officer was stopping
every person who parked in a handicap spot to show him their permit.
Just having a sticker on the rear view mirror or a HC lisence plate is
not enough. You have to be the person who was issued such decal.
Hence they caught a few people who were using mom's permit.

I have called the nabs more than once on people violating the intended
use for handicapped spots. Usually after I have mentioned to them that their placard is not displayed and they give me a bushel of attitude.

I wouldn't do that anymore. In my area someone mentioned not to park
in the fire zone to someone. Followed him home and ran him over with
his car. Life is changed forever now.

Title: Liver Pate

Yield: 2 Cups

It has been some years since I bought liver, maybe I will again, once I can do the cooking. Hoping to give up the hand brace next week and also
start flexing the knee (right now, just very minor bending, so I don't tear the tendon the patella is attached to) more.

You are not having a good year. :( Hope you get better soon!

Sounds good, we've got a brisket on the smoker right now. Got it on a
good mark down the other day as it was approaching the last day of
sale.
Working on it, saw the doctor today. I can now flex it more, working my way back to a full flex over the next few weeks. Hand is also
improving; I'm not wearing the splint unless in a situation where it's needed for support. Knee immobiliser for a couple more weeks when out, then I can go without it if I'm cautious about my footing/surroundings.

Nice! We found some beef roasts on sale the other day and got 2.
(Limit of 2 per person) Had one and it was good!

Good. At least this is positive! I did something and can't walk or
stand for more then a few minutes. Doctor ran some tests and I'm
losing blood somewhere so on Iron pills and have an ultrasound next
week to see if they can find where the missing blood is going. He
wasn't overly
concerned so I won't worry about it yet either.

How did you fix it?
I like to put a roast in the crock pot, add onions and mushrooms and let it
cook on low all day. Falling apart tender and tastes yummy.

That doesn't sound good, hopefully the ultrasound will give you some
definative answers. I'm doing a bit more work around the house, trying
not to stress the hand much (right hand, but I'm left handed). But, at
the end of the day, it's hurting--amazing how much you use a hand, even when trying not to.

Very badly, given his posted messages.

Similar but in the oven roasted until rare then rested on the counter
for a while. Slice and eat.

I can only imagine.

Right now it's still too warm to run the oven for an extended time. The crock pot doesn't heat up the kitchen as much.
Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. I had a CT scan the other day, still trying to figure out why the persistant cough. Results didn't
show much of a change since last year's scan, still coughing.
So I'm going to take a break from typing for now, let the hand recover
and finish Fido later.

We have had the heat on a few days already.

That sucks. Could it be a side effect to a drug?

Take care!

I am, but trying to do more around the house. I can load/empty the dishwasher but Steve still does the meal prep and hand wash dishes.
Today we're going to have some chicken & barley soup that a friend
made; the weather has turned cool enough for soup.

I am as well. Not very sucessfully but I did manage to do some dishes
and cook a meal Thursday. Mind you the dishes took 3 hours due to
having to sit down so often.

Nice. We started soup season a few weeks back! It's my favorite part
of the crappy weather.
