FDA APPROVES WORLD'S FIRST BIRTH CONTROL PILL: After almost ten years
of development, the FDA approves the world's first birth control pill.
It will take 12 years and two Supreme Court cases, Griswold v.
Connecticut and Eisenstadt v. Baird, before the pill becomes legally
available to all women in the US. In 2018, the CDC will report that
'the pill' is the second most common contraceptive among US women.
