    Title: Damsel's Gingersnaps

    Yield: 1 servings

    3/4 c Vegetable shortening or lard
    -*
    1 c Granulated sugar
    1/4 c Molasses
    1 lg Egg
    2 ts Baking soda
    1/2 ts Ground cloves
    1/2 ts Ground ginger
    1 ts Ground cinnamon
    2 c All-purpose flour

    * Do not use butter or margarine - you'll wind up with ginger crepes
    instead of cookies.

    Combine ingredients in order given.

    Roll dough into balls the size of a walnut. Dip one side in sugar.
    Place dough balls, sugar side up, on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake
    10-12 minutes at 375°F.

    Mom and I used to bake these cookies at my parents' lake cabin on
    chilly days, to heat up the cabin. Well, that's the excuse we used.
