Trump Force One, Donald Trump's private Boeing 757, is back in service after six years. The plane flew to Palm Beach, Florida, where Trump lives, last week after undergoing a major overhaul in the past year.
Trump is expected to use his 757 to attend political rallies ahead of the so-called midterm elections in November to support congressional candidates in the pro-Trump camp. He previously used the 757 for his own presidential campaign in 2016.
After Trump defeated Hillary Clinton and was inaugurated as president, he had to use Air Force One and the Boeing 757 was mothballed. The aircraft was only used a few times by family members shortly after the elections.
When Trump had to leave the White House in early 2021, his plane first needed major maintenance before it could be put back into service. Why it took so long is unknown. There was speculation in some media that Trump had no money for that, but he denied it.
For the past year and a half, the ex-president has mainly traveled with his 8-person Cessna Citation. But now the 757 is fully refurbished and ready for use again. The color scheme has also been adjusted: the T on the tail has been replaced by a large American flag.
There is a good chance that Trump will run for president next year in the 2024 presidential election, to run again against Joe Biden. But first his goal is to win the majority in the US Congress during the midterms with Republican candidates.
