Delta Air Lines is calling for the implementation of a national blacklist of passengers convicted of misbehavior on aircraft. The list is intended to prevent unruly passengers from boarding any American airline.
Delta CEO Ed Bastian pleads in a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garlan for the introduction of such a 'no-fly list'. It is intended to prevent future incidents and serves as a strong symbol of the onsequences of not following the instructions of crews.
There has been a sharp increase in the number of incidents on board passenger aircraft in the US. In many cases, it concerns passengers who refuse to wear a face mask. Delta itself has created a blacklist of 1900 unruly passengers, and previously called on other airlines to exchange their lists.
