Paris's Charles de Gaulle, Orly, Le Bourget and Beauvais airports will close during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games on July 26, 2024. The airspace above the French capital will also be closed for hours, as part of a major security plan.
The kick-off of the Games will take place in the center of Paris and is expected to attract many thousands of visitors.
Various measures are taken to guarantee safety. Air traffic is at a standstill, and with the exception of emergency services and government institutions, no aircraft movements are allowed within a radius of 150 kilometers around Paris.
Affected passengers will be informed by the airlines about the status of their flight.
Charles de Gaulle and Orly are important hubs for Air France, while Beauvais is mainly used by Ryanair. Le Bourget is intended for private aircraft.
