United Airlines has placed two additional aircraft orders, for a total of 110 aircraft. This concerns 50 Boeing 787-9s and 60 Airbus A321neos. Including previous orders, the airline expects to put a total of 800 (!) new aircraft into service by 2032.
United now has a total of 150 Boeing 787s on order, making it by far the world's largest customer of this type. With a total of 180 A321neos on order, the company is also one of the largest customers of that type. With the new aircraft, United wants to both renew and expand its fleet. According to CEO Scott Kirby, there are major growth opportunities domestically and internationally.
