In the next release of telnetlib3, which includes CLI telnetlib3-server
and telnetlib3-client, I have added for the server new arguments,
--robot-check --force-binary --pty-raw and have demonstrated it at the following server:
telnet 1984.ws 666
Or, if you're not using a modern unicode-capable terminal, you can see
the output and find source code here,
https://blessed.readthedocs.io/en/latest/examples.html#cellestial-py
This is something i've had on my mind for years, I read Stephen
Wolfram's "A New Kind of Science" as a teenager and it had an affect on
me. Anyway the unicode blocks are "very detailed" through a nice trick
of using the 64 "sextants" of Unicode blocks,
https://unicodeplus.com/block/1FB00
which gives 3x the vertical and and horizontal detail. Of course, we
can't color each individual block (yet), but in any case the effect is
nice. Hope this inspires someone! The code is a bit shit but the
scrolling effect is a nice and high framerate.
