    Can anyone connect to this? It keeps refusing my connections. Perhaps I'm blacklisted? I can list my IP if that'll help.

    $ telnet catch22bbs.org 1337
    Trying 157.245.185.220...
    Connected to catch22bbs.org.
    Escape character is '^]'.

    Works fine from here. Maybe you're spelling it wrong? I highly doubt he blacklisted your IP, unless you're relentlessly badgering his system.

    Even if it were to connect for you, it doesn't seem to work using anything Windows related, right?

    I tried connecting with both Syncterm and Putty from a Windows 64bit machine, and they both scramble the text all over the screen. He has already stated he doesn't have a Windows machine to test with.

    The only way it is working for me is via a Linux console. If you don't have that option available to you, maybe you're better off moving on.

    Regards,
    Nick

    Correct. Ok, I can connect with the command line telnet, but not telnetdoor for some reason.

    Definitely. I just like to support as many software authors as possible.

    Sounds like something is probably wrong with telnetdoor's configuration, or command line usage, then. I don't know, as I don't (nor will I) use it. Everything method of connecting I've tried seems to connect just fine, although some/most of them don't display the game properly. If the author chooses not to support anything but a Linux console, then so be it. *shrug*

    With the author mentioning he had no way of testing on Windows, that seemed to me like he wasn't all that interested in supporting anything Windows related. ;)

    It was the -Zansi-bbs for setting the term type. Doing that makes telnetdoor automatically assume that the connection is rlogin.
