  • ddial via telnetdoor?

From Shurato@911:1208/2 to All on Sat Jan 3 21:15:00 2026
Is anyone doing this? I'm getting a really vague error saying that the
remote system isn't accepting rlogin connections. I was able to connect with syncterm and my sbbs game server. I'd like to not have 2 hops to get to it though.

Ahhhh - this might be a good idea, Shurato... I hadn't thought about connecting TO DDIAL for my users. I might have a go at trying to get it working - I know that Winter of Land of the Lost (a DDIAL bbs) is really helpful; let us know if you get it rocking.

It works for any BBSes with buit-in rlogin support, but not those that
require the usage of telnetdoor for rlogins... I've been going through
Winter (T3rminal Fr0st) at LotL and he's tried to help, but his is the only rlogin system I can't connect to and telnetdoor is the only client that can't connect to him. I recently set up a sbbs gameserver though, so I'm able to
use that for ddial and tank battle. I also had some fossil issues and was
able (since Mike really can't support netfoss any more) to use sbbs gameserv for that as well. I'd rather not hand of to even a local server, but at
    least it works!

Ah, ok - I'll have to swing by Shurato's and have a look at what yer doing. I'd love to offer DDIAL to 2oFB users - good on you for working it out.

There *is* a #ddial room in MRC that anyone with MRC access can join.

Is there anything substantially different/better about connecting to ddial via rlogin?

I do know that - I just think its cool to have a DDIAL specific setup to OFFER users; most won't ever know about the DDIAL chat room in MRC... I got the infoz from Winter/t3rminal fr0st and have a DDIAL RLOGIN password now; just need to set it up. :P

Thanks for the idea, even if it wasn't what you were doing!! :P

He has been making updates and added rlogin and a game called Tank Battle.

He calls it primal chat I think, LOL. So there are some advantages to
the rlogin vs telnet to LotL. He has to give you and account and password
for your BBS to use, and then users will be identified as coming from the BBS.

Ah, that makes sense, then. I have heard of this tank battle game, but have yet to try it for myself.

Tank Battle is really fun - especially if you play with friends you know. There is a chat part of it before you enter the game, but I THINK users of DDIAL can bounce right in??? At least users on Land of the Lost BBS where it was created...

If I see you @ the #MeatUp we'll have to jump in!! Winter created and RLOGIN user/pass for my bbS - and will doso for other on request...
