I was really ill when I was a child and remember looking at my own body once. It was like I was outside of myself. Would that be an out of body experience? ---

Yes, I had that experience when I was also quite young and terribly sick. It was not scary. It was kind of thrilling.

I have had dreams like that, where I am floating up and looking down on my body as it sleeps. I feel a pull back to it and usually wake with a jolt. My wife says she feels me spasm and catch my breath. I was tested for sleep apnea and that was negative. Very interesting topic guys.

I have had 3 OOB's that I thought to write down

2 of them were as a young man, during intense or heartfelt discussions with my father. In one of them I actively remember trying to not panic and keep my head pointed at my dad while trying to listen and respond in "third person".

The third was during a minor surgical procedure; I remember getting a "ceiling down" view of the operating room and 'saying' to myself "well sh!t...THIS can't be a good sign."

When you had these experiences, did you feel peaceful or panicky to get back to yourself again?
Your experiences are fascinating. Thank you for sharing.

    Robert,
My wife said I do the same thing. I jump in my sleep from her view point. To me I feel like I am slamming back into myself when I have these experiences. They have been few and far between.
