My brand new power supply just blew out. It is a RM850x corsair gold
rated... I'm back to the laptop. I"ll be able to trouble shoot this better again once I'm back on the main system. I'm bringing it in today.

Fingers are crossed for you that you didn't lose any data. I have to be
pretty careful about keeping my fans clean at the apartment due to the
constant construction on my building and the fact I live in a Downtown core there is a lot of dust that gets sucked into the fans no matter how often
    we clean.

I wasn't even using it and it was only 3 days old... It popped and smoked...
I still don't know the state of the rest of the computer, Best Buy is
    working on it.

Sounds like it blew a capacitor. I'd not buy that brand again.

They tend not to work anymore after the magic smoke escapes.

Yeah, it was Corsair. My AIO went out too and I replaced it with a different brand as well.

Yeah, I've had a few catch file (I mean, serious flames) on me before. That was years ago but still...
