So.. you have a modem attached to that?
It's a VoIP number routed to an ATA with a USB modem plugged into that. I've tested it locally from an old laptop I have with a modem built into it.
I was able to get connected anywhere from 19,200 to 31,200. I've not
had anyone from outside try it yet, so I'd be curious to know if it actually works with "real world" usage.
what equipment and setup are you using with your USB modem?
I'm trying to get my own USR 56k to connect over VOIP through my cisco sp122 ata, but no handshake completes.

Hi Grant,
I don't have this setup anymore, but I was using a StarTech ICUSB232 USB to Serial adapter plugged into a USR Sportster 56k modem. For the phone line I was using a Cisco SPA112 provisioned with service from voip.ms.
I remember there were a couple of settings I needed to change on the SPA112, making sure the firmware was updated (1.4.1 SR5) and some
changes under audio configuration to get it to connect at all.
I believe I used the settings from this page: https://gekk.info/articles/ata-config.html#Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting Section 2 are the settings you're after.
