    Merry Christmas, everyone.

I caught influenza B on Wednesday and am over the worst of it. It's moved
into my lungs now which isn't good but nothing meds and Fisherman's Friends can't handle.

    If you don't know: https://fishermansfriend.com/en-us/flavors/original-extra-strong

I'm going to be busy cleaning and disinfecting my apartment this week.

Something nice: my sister and brother-in-law bought me a cool-mist vaporizer for Christmas. That's going to help me all year around.

I love/hate Fisherman's Friend. Love them because they work but hate them for how strong they are, I joke that my body works extra hard to get rid of the cold/flu so I don't have to endure those lozenges.

Something nice: my sister and brother-in-law bought me a cool-mist vaporizer for Christmas. That's going to help me all year around.

I just plugged ours in last night in the bedroom. Found myself waking up in the morning with a really dry and slightly sore throat which happens in the colder months. Having one of those going overnight really helps with that.

The ER doc who saw me said flu A, flu B, and COVID were going around.
Saturday the place was packed though threre was a poor dude that was in the middle of a heart attack (I felt sorry for him). Luckily, after injecting Zofran (anti-emetic) and fluids into me, I felt better, but I went into the main hospital lobby and gathered what strenght I had to make it home in a
    cab.*

The nausea is mostly gone though the infection has moved into my chest. I'm
no longer blacking out when I cough but it's shallower coughing with a lot
of phlegm. That cool-mist vaporizer is already helping me. I fired it up
the high setting about an hour ago and I can feel the difference already.

Both of my parents are sick with the flu also. When I went to the ER
ysterday, I noticed my dad's mobility scooter in the ER waiting room. Sure enough, he was there due to his coughing. For some reason my mom blames me
for making her sick--we went to Sam's Club Wednesday and I think we caught
it there--but it doesn't matter. I believe they're doing better.

I'm doing somewhat better but I am very lightheaded and can't move aound
much. I have to be especially careful since I am a fall risk so I am using
my cane and being deliberate in my movements.

I was planning on spending Christmas alone which is okay but being sick and alone sucks balls.

Hope you get better as soon as possible!

    Hi Jay,

Hope you're feeling better soon, it's never fun to catch any bug.

I can handle this better than COVID. It took me two months to get over
COVID when I got it last Labor Day.

I love/hate Fisherman's Friend. Love them because they work but hate
them for how strong they are, I joke that my body works extra hard to
get rid of the cold/flu so I don't have to endure those lozenges.

I'm weird. I LOVE the taste. My grandparents would break the lozenges in
half but I use the whole thing. It really works on me. I do love the taste
of licorice so that might be part of it.

I just plugged ours in last night in the bedroom. Found myself
waking up in the morning with a really dry and slightly sore throat
which happens in the colder months. Having one of those going
    overnight really helps with that.

I turn mine off at night since I use a humidified CPAP machine but I turn it
on first thing in the morning. Since I first turned it on about 90 minutes ago, I have noticed the heat (I use an oil-filled radiator heater in my
bedroom as the wall-mounted heat pump in the living room tends to run all night; it's really inefficient) being less harsh and more comfy.

Hopefully I'll get more sleep tonight. I got about 12 hours of sleep in
while trying to avoid coughing spasms.

i have this one and it's worked well for years. we actually have 2

    https://i.imgur.com/seAigPQ.png

It comes with a sample to put in the medicine cup. also the heating element will get a 'shell' of minerals from your water so you have to take it apart
    and soak it in vinegar.

i'm running one in the living room downstairs to keep the temp of the room up with humidity. it really helps well with that.

That sucks man. But FIsherman's friends are the answer to anything like
that. I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) they are all herbal? They are
the only thing that works for us!
