Hi everyone,

I really, really dislike summer. The good thing for summer, for me, is that it means my favorite season, autumn, is not far away.

It's the start of the holiday season; warm days, cool nights; hot cocoa; and sweater season... <G>

Since my "new" truck doesn't have A/C, autumn means I can be outside driving at 1 PM and not be dying of heat exhaustion!

Yikes! Gotta get one of those retrofit A/C kits :P

I put one in my 68 Mustang and it makes driving on hot days much more bearable. However, I need to tear out the interior and put some insulation layers down, the heat coming from the transmission and exhaust still turns the car into an oven.

I agree, even if my AC works. It's that period of time between my truck
and my destination in 100+ degree temps UGH!

I've just the vinyl mat on the floor so it'd be easy to upgrade. This truck was a "work truck" model from the factory according to the VIN. Bare-bones
but that's the way I like my vehicles as it means less to go wrong.

Not at 100F yet here but at 89F with 94% humidity, it might as well be. I
know how miserable it gets down there during summer. I still miss southern Arizona (outside of Phoenix) when it's 110F with 4% humidity. Just turn on
the swamp coller and relax. No A/C needed!

Neither does mine... I was on afternoons this past week, so I melted a few
days that Andrea needed her car. Most of the week she came home early for
me to borrow her car so I didn't melt on my way to work.

These 40c days (with humidity) have been insane.

Spring is better because you get mostly the same, with less heat.

Here in the US South, thanks to a massive natural tropical maritime air mass that hangs out in the Gulf of Mexico that constantly blows humid air, it's miserable due to high humidity even here in the Appalachian Mountains.

Our local Koppen climate classification is "humid subtropical climate" but we are right next to an "oceanic climate" and a "humid continental mild summer, weat all year" climate so we always are damp around these parts.

It used to also be a land of tobacco. Not so much for several years.
I have traveled through Indiana and Illinois enough to know you will find a
lot more corn there than here, but you can find it easy enough if that is important. :)

with a nagging cough. This afternoon, started getting a scratchy throat.
Crap.

My mom is 86, we always try and quarantine around her if we have any
symptoms near the holidays. She broke her hip and elbow and is in a
rehab facility now, we're looking into assisted living for her when she
gets out. Luckily for her, everyone is masking at the facility. Fingers
crossed that she stays healthy.

At that age, even a cold can be bad news. Hope she continues to do better. Assisted living might be a good option. It helped my late paternal
