• Played at a Stained Glass Show

My wife and I played the organ for a local Stained Glass Show yesterday and today. We played on behalf of our local Organ and Keyboard Club, and we had a ball!

I even had one lady tell me that her mother's favorite song was 'Besame Mucho' and was very pleased that I played that song. Made me feel happy to hear this.

We were told to keep the volume down so as not to interfere with the quiet atmosphere of the event, but someone asked me to turn up the volume when I played a medley of songs form 'Phantom of the Opera'.

I am only a hobbyist, but have been playing since 1963. I love to play for crowds, and I am looking forward to the next event in our community.

One organ, two people as in a duet?

I have an old Roland electric piano that I ought to reassemble
and place it in my book shop. I think it could attract some
    fine tinkerers of the craft.

We had 2 organs, side by side, and took turns. Haven't worked on any duets yet but
that is an idea for the future.

I watch a lot of videos on YouTube where there is a piano available, and people walk up
to it and play. Some good stuff because you never know who might come in and be a
    really good player.

    Mike,

My wife and I played the organ for a local Stained Glass Show yesterday and today. We played on behalf of our local Organ and Keyboard Club,
    and we had a ball!

Long time amateur radio operator, Bob Heil, K9EID...who invented the Heil Microphone...and who is in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame...is also an accomplished organist.

I think of the joke where a preacher of a small country church went to
visit the home of the elderly lady who was the church organist. During
the week, as he stopped by, she greeted him, and went into the kitchen
to get some refreshments made for them.

As he's sitting there, he notices a small bowl of water sitting on the
organ, and in it is a condom.

He's embarrassed, and doesn't want to say anything. But, finally
curiosity gets the best of him (we know what it did to the cat <G>),
and he asks her what it was.

She said "Well, I was out walking one day, and I found this packet
on the ground. It said "keep wet, put on organ, and it helps prevent disease"...then she added "I haven't been sick in several years!!".

The preacher fainted dead away. <BG>
