• Bob Dole RIP

From Lee Lofaso@2:203/2 to ALL on Sunday, December 05, 2021 21:09:06
    Hello Everybody,

    We lost a good one.
Bob Dole, dead at age 98.
    May he rest in peace.

“Bob was an American statesman like few in our history. A war hero and
among the greatest of the Greatest Generation. And to me, he was also a
friend whom I could look to for trusted guidance, or a humorous line at
just the right moment to settle frayed nerves. I will miss my friend.
But I am grateful for the times we shared, and for the friendship Jill
and I and our family have built with Liddy and the entire Dole family.
.... He had an unerring sense of integrity and honor. May God bless him,
and may our nation draw upon his legacy of decency, dignity, good humor,
and patriotism for all time.” — President Joe Biden, who served with
    Dole in the Senate.

Joe Biden called Bob Dole his friend. So should we all.

Why didn't you vote for him then?

He did vote for him - in the primaries.

Here in Michigan, the Democrats will only allow registered Democrats to vote in their primary. But Republicans will allow anyone to vote. (This is something that the Republicans need to fix, IHMO.)

One of the Democrats tactics is to have Democrats vote for the WORST Republican candidate in the Republican primary. That will make it much easier for the Democrat candicate to win the seat.

That's horrible. The Republican Party really sucks! They don't take the time to do any important administrative work, and now we're relying on them to defend the country from a communist takeover.

I think that the issue really is that the Democrat party was taken over by the power hungry elites that were a big part of their party for a long time.

The Republicans tend to not be that power hungry, so they don't plot and plan as much. (And, so, don't see the problem with the primaries.) I also believe that the Left has infected the Republican Party as well.

I don't vote party anymore. I vote person. Anyone who has been in politics for more than 10 years is "establishment" and will not get my vote.

also believe that the Left has infected the Republican Party as well.

Republicans don't plot and plan, but they should. If I was the chairman of the RNC, I'd aim to do something about all the elections being thrown. Imagine getting paid hundreds of thousands of dollars a year, just to congratulate Democrats; that's about all that Rona is good for.

I don't vote party anymore. I vote person. Anyone who has been in politics for more than 10 years is "establishment" and will not get my vote.

I could never vote for a Democrat, unless they were to openly condemn the actions of other Democrats. I would also need them to openly condemn George Sorros.

Eric Adams (incoming NYC mayor) is a Democrat. While he's statistically more likely to be a self-serving scumbag, he's already made the statement "I will not let BLM call the shots in my city" and I was like "Wow!" I also like
this guy because he's an ex-cop. The Republican he ran against was a joke. Curtis Sliwa (Republican) failed miserably. Most people have no idea who the Guardian Angels are, and most people don't have time to find out either.

The Guardian Angels used to be famous.

realitycheckBBS started in San Francisco in 1991. The GAs came out to patrol some areas of town to lower crime incidents downtown.

We were having a BBS gettogether in a part of SF that was right on the DMZ between sketchy and posh. We were in an upstairs restaurant at the corner of Polk and Sutter, a line diagonally separated the two.

As we sat talking, we saw two guys running diagonally across the
intersection then saw 2 guys in red berets and GA shirts chasing them.

90 seconds later, see 2 GA running the opposite direction chased by a dozen men.

They didn't last very long out here; they could have done more just coordinating with SFPD instead of trying to be their own police force.

Kyle Rittenhouse was his own police force and didn't need to coordinate
    with anybody.

Perhaps they don't have the time, or perhaps they don't want to be believe that which has been told is actually false.

I appreciate the man, but there are better conservative candidates in NYC. Their committee chair didn't try hard enough. Do you think they bothered to reach out to Robert Burck? (naked cowboy) He's a conservative, and way more popular than Eric Adams.
