• Usenet feeds on Darkrealms

From Alan Beck@1:229/426.36 to Nick Andre on Monday, April 04, 2022 16:38:23
I am interested in getting into usegroups.

Used to be active over the years.

Sounds like a nice way to do it.

Please advise on how to do it.

    Alan

Looking for a reliable feed for Usenet groups in Fido *.PKT format? With full read/write access, Areafix automation and regular mail delivery?

Darkrealms has been providing Usenet feeds since 1994. In fact it is one of the reasons many systems in Fido and "Other nets" choose our system
for their Usenet needs. It is 100% automated - no need to bug a Sysop to add or remove groups. Mail is polled several times a day with optional spam filtering. No complicated scripts, no headaches, it "just works".

Netmail me at 1:229/426 for more information.

You send a Netmail to Areafix at 1:229/426 with your password in the subject and in the body the list groups you want. If you need a list I can send that.

As per my ad, you just configure my system as another link and Areafix whatever you want.

I think I just sent you a netmail mystic bbs seams to cut off the domain field. I put in darkrealm.ca but it cuts off at darkreal and nothing
    after that.

You're confusing Fidonet domains with Internet domains.

I'm guessing that a fidonet domain would be 1:229/426

No. A Fidonet address can be made up of 4 or 5 parts or "dimensions".

    1:229/426.0 is a 4-part address. Zone 1, Net 229, Node 426 and Point zero.

1:229/426.0@fidonet is a 5-part address. The 5th part is the Fidonet domain, usually no more than 8 characters. It is usually not an Internet domain but
a mutually-agreed upon domain between systems.

Explaining this further would likely be off-topic...
