    Title: Caramel Apple Pie
    Categories: Pies, Citrus, Fruits, Nuts
    Yield: 6 Servings

    Pastry for a 2 crust 9" pie
    10 Caramel candies; quartered
    1/3 c Flour
    2 ts Lemon juice
    3 c Stayman-Winesap apples;
    - unpeeled, in 1/2" cubes
    2/3 c Caramel ice cream topping
    1/2 c Pecans; chopped

    In medium bowl, combine caramels and flour. Add apples,
    caramel topping and lemon juice; mix well. Pour mixture
    into crust; top with pecans.

    Bake on preheated baking sheet at 375ºF/190ºC for 40-45
    minutes until crust has browned; cool.

    Optional: Drizzle some caramel topping over nuts after
    taking pie from oven, but before it's cool.

    Title: Frederick, Md Chocolate Caramel Apples
    Categories: Fruits, Chocolare, Candy, Snacks, Nuts
    Yield: 8 servings

    14 oz Caramels
    2 tb Water
    4 Wooden sticks
    4 lg Tart apples
    2 c Chopped pecans or peanuts
    1 c Semisweet chocolate chips
    1 ts Shortening
    1 c English toffee bits or
    - almond brickle chips

    In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the caramels
    and water. Microwave, uncovered, on high for 45 seconds;
    stir. Microwave 20-40 seconds longer or until the
    caramels are melted; stir until smooth.

    Insert wooden sticks into apples; dip apples into the
    caramel mixture, turning to coat. Coat with nuts; set
    on waxed paper to cool.

    Meanwhile, melt chocolate chips and shortening; stir
    until smooth. Drizzle over apples. Sprinkle with toffee
    bits. Place on waxed paper to cool. Cut into wedges to
    serve.
