    Hello Everybody,

    The Game.
    USA vs The Netherlands.

When the sun rises in America,
and the sun sets in Qatar, it will
be time to Rock & Roll, as The Game
    gets underway.

    Assuming enough Dutch recover from
the flu and are able to play.

    For Life,

Toronto is a dystopian authoritarian city where the beloved Maple Leafs completely suck the sweat off an elderly Dutchman's balls. But you MUST

So why is the USA organizing the next World Championships then?

I don't know. Maybe it's just "our turn".

It's a very very very expensive venture, I can't imagine a country making money out of it. Just prestige.

To get awarded the organization is a very tedious project, corruption, kickbacks...someone must be providing the money. So there must be some gain..

For the record, the world championship football is a bigger event than the olympics...

It's in the way how one views the game. For example the USA's opening game in the current world championships against Wales ended in a 1-1 but was a good game of tactics and moves. Even the 0-0 against England was a good game.

A football player runs between 11 and 15 km during a game, an NFL-player's performance is measured in yards, then he needs a break, a rest and a drink of water. That's the difference between a sport and a game.

But through the years I started to appreciate the game and tactics, in the mid-19704s I saw O.J.Simpson play and that was something...

    Ummmm, yes. Money.

For the record, the world championship football is a bigger event
    than the olympics...

I'll take your word for it. FWIW, the Olympics are a sad relic of what
they were a few decades ago. Nobody gives a shit about that, either.

Well, that's not completely true of course, and one could argue that the king of boring is..... soccer. I mean, seriously. The actual *goals*

I can understand that. I think it's just that most Americans want more "instant gratification", and soccer does NOT provide that.

NFL-player's performance is measured in yards, then he needs a

But through the years I started to appreciate the game and
tactics, in the mid-19704s I saw O.J.Simpson play and that was something...

There are current players with similar skills, although I rarely watch football any more.

Canada's better at ice hockey ...

Here you are CLEARLY mistaken. It's been 29 *YEARS* since a Canadian

    The Stanley-what?

The Stanley Cup. The championship trophy of the National Hockey League,
which is the highest level of skill/play in North America.

Meaning to say, at the world level of sports it is so
    unimportant...

It may be unimportant to YOU, just as international soccer is
unimportant to me (and almost ALL other Americans). I can assure you, however, that the skills in the NHL exceed those of ANY other hockey
league in the world (and there are plenty in Euro-commie-land). That
also includes Olympic hockey competition. A large number of players in
the NHL are from countries other than USA and Canada.

The USA has hosted the FIFA World Cup before. Thanks to Dr. Henry
Kissinger. So the USA does know how to do it.

To get awarded the organization is a very tedious project, corruption, kickbacks...someone must be providing the money. So there must be some gain..

unlike Nixon, Dr. Kissinger is not a crook.

For the record, the world championship football is a bigger event than the olympics...

That may be. But this is Dr. Kissinger's baby. And given he has been

Neither was Nixon, he said so himself.

The USA had the youngest team, and did extremely well given the competition. Will be a real contender in 2026.

The USA has no football culture, there is no national competition of any significance. Only a bunch of has-beens and 2nd rate Brazilians. A national team is something that needs to be nurtured and grown, not something you put together when an event comes up.

Several teams in the NFL have had kickers who kicked the round ball
long before the oval one ...

"oval" and "ball" are mutually exclusive.

Sylvester Stallone played the game. But only on camera.

He also played football ... but also on camera in the film "Escape to Victory".

Pele, Bobby Moore, Osvaldo Ardiles, Paul Van Himst, Co Prins, Kazimierz Deyna, Hallvar Thoresen, Mike Summerbee, Russell Osman, John Wark, Soren Lindsted and Kevin O'Callaghan made it look like real football. Stallone was a joke.

Just like the USA will actually win the World Cup.

So you're saying that the one major ice-hockey competition resulting in the Stanley Cup is mainly played by non-Americans and non-Canadians? 8-)

It may be unimportant to YOU, just as international soccer is
unimportant to me (and almost ALL other Americans). I can assure you, however, that the skills in the NHL exceed those of ANY other hockey league in the world (and there are plenty in Euro-commie-land). That
    also includes Olympic hockey competition.

Belgium is the reigning Olympic hockey champion.

    Not true. It's Finland.

No, I'm not saying that. You added the word "mainly" in another attempt
to twist the meaning of what somebody says, like you frequently do.

So, in this one post, you're 0-for-2. One outright lie, and one attempt
    at twisting. FAIL.

And yes, they really are. Those tight loving guys really should learn, that their name of a game is not necessarily the universally accepted one.

I don't know what you were talking about, but I was talking about what as good as the whole world calls "hockey", just as I'm talking about what as good as the whole world calls "football".

You're so easy to catch, nearly dissappointing ... and then of course the insult.

They sure love their men in tights. Secretly friends of Dorothy all of

It must be the slippers. Silver, in Baum's wonderful world of Oz.

Yeah, well, it's not totally clear from where the FoD expression originates. Some seem to vote for Dorothy Parker rather than your Dorothy Gale.

    Hello Ward,

Dr. Henry Kissinger is a German Jew. Served as Secretary of State
and National Security Director under President Richard Nixon. However,
unlike Nixon, Dr. Kissinger is not a crook.

Neither was Nixon, he said so himself.

Then why did Ford grant him a pardon? And why did Nixon accept it?

The USA had the youngest team, and did extremely well given the
competition. Will be a real contender in 2026.

The USA has no football culture, there is no national competition of any significance. Only a bunch of has-beens and 2nd rate Brazilians. A national
team is something that needs to be nurtured and grown, not something you put together when an event comes up.

The USA earned its way to the World Cup.
Italy flunked out. For the third straight time.
    That should tell you something.

The USA made it to the knockout round.
    Belgium never got there.
That should also tell you something.

The USA will be back in 2026.
    Belgium might never get there.
That is another thing to keep in mind.

Brazil and the Netherland both lost,
and all their players, coaches, and fans
are crying. Some sysops from those places
    might never recover.

This is not just a game for some people.
It is the beautiful game, the only game of
its kind, and some folks can never get it
    out of their minds.

Several teams in the NFL have had kickers who kicked the round ball
long before the oval one ...

"oval" and "ball" are mutually exclusive.

We have our own rugby league where I am. The players aren't very good,
but everybody has fun. As long as there is enough beer to go around.

As you know, rugby cannot be played with a "round" ball ...

But through the years I started to appreciate the game and tactics,
in the mid-19704s I saw O.J.Simpson play and that was something...

Sylvester Stallone played the game. But only on camera.

He also played football ... but also on camera in the film "Escape to Victory".

Burt Reynolds was better in "The Longest Yard" ...

Pele, Bobby Moore, Osvaldo Ardiles, Paul Van Himst, Co Prins, Kazimierz Deyna, Hallvar Thoresen, Mike Summerbee, Russell Osman, John Wark, Soren Lindsted and Kevin O'Callaghan made it look like real football. Stallone was a joke.

Stallone also drove a race car. But only in the movies ...

Just like the USA will actually win the World Cup.

Just like several US riders won the Tour the France only to be stripped from
all their victories because of cheating.

    But we won! We won!
    Does anything else really matter?
    I mean, get real.
    Brazilians are crying today.
    So are the Dutch.
And we all know the reason why.

    For Life,
    Lee

Then why did Ford grant him a pardon? And why did Nixon accept it?

Because he was driving a Subaru, not a Ford.

The USA earned its way to the World Cup.

Yeah ... beating like Costa Rica, Panama, Jamaica ... really must be tough.

Italy flunked out. For the third straight time.
    That should tell you something.

Because the qualifiers in Europe are Champions' League level.

The USA made it to the knockout round.
    Belgium never got there.
That should also tell you something.

All the teams from the USA's group have already been eliminated.
All the teams from Belgium's group that advanced are still in and playing the semi-finals. They have eliminated Brazil, Portugal and Spain.
    That should tell you something.

    Brazilians are crying today.
    So are the Dutch.

The Dutch are not crying. Just looking for someone to blame.
