    the fucking US democracy. ;-\

It will be appealed, and then some more, and then some more ...

If ever he gets to the USA, they have a problem. He could be convicted in the US but serve his time in an Australian facility ...

You should read up on the strange case of Dominique Prieur ... sentenced to 10 years for the bombing of the Rainbow Warrior but allowed to serve her time on French territory, Hao-island, a tropical resort where she got pregnant and subsequently sent to France for "health reasons" ...

Strange things happen in life ...

We know in the meantime how well you research the news when posting here, which is why I am not surprized you have no clue.

As part of the deal of the extradition request the US has agreed on the type of sentencing if found guilty and agreed any such sentence could be fullfilled in Australia. A death sentence is by definition ruled-out.

It's very funny to see that comment from citizen of Russian where journalists are beeing jailed for treason every year.
Ivan Safronov is currently on trial and this trial is just a joke.
And even go to the street to protest against that is a crime.

That's why Snowden is quite about war in Ukraine, because he knows the limits. And don't wont go try Russian jail, where torture is a very common thing.

For my part I like to see the level of nonsense which can be reached by Russian trolls ... It's amazing.

Venting this nonsense is one thing, but believing it? I cannot wrap my mind around it all this is happening and someone really honestly believes it.

    Hello Alan,

Why do you people even continue replying to this obvious Russian troll
    idiot?

    Is he a Russian troll?

There are no trolls in this forum, Russian or otherwise.

He supports Putin in whatever he does but I don't think that makes him a troll. A blind follower perhaps.

Military History is a subject of interest to many people around the
world. Not limited to Russians or any other specific nationality.

He is trolling in this area. He could find a more topical area to post in. I
have given him suggestions but he doesn't seem to be willing to move to a more appropriate area.

A more topical area? How about MILITARY HISTORY? Too many letters
for an ECHOTAG? Then how about MILHIST? I am sure you, or some other
sysop, can easily create such an echo.

Trolling? That can be a good thing, not necesarilly an evil. Without
folks who are willing to question issues, what can there be to debate
about? I say bring them on! All of them! Running away from althernate

    Hello Ward,

Why do you people even continue replying to this obvious Russian DC>troll
    idiot?

    Your question/remark is justified.

According to recent polls, 83% of Russian approve of Putin's
"propaganda". How may Belgians approve of your leader's propaganda?

For my part I like to see the level of nonsense which can be reached by Russian trolls ... It's amazing.

The level of nonsense which ca be reached by Belgian trolls can also
    be amazing.

Venting this nonsense is one thing, but believing it?

Many people believe anything that Donald Trump says, and truly
believe every word he utters. Not just Americans, but also others
    around the world.

I cannot wrap my mind around it all this is happening and someone really honestly believes it.

I can introduce you to several Trumpers ... some of whom can even
be found within the realms of Fidonet.

It is the single biggest carefully plotted propaganda effort in world history, even Goebels did not reach this level ...

It is quite apparent you have never met Donald J. Trump in person ...

And it's not just Putin, it's a carefully oiled well running machine.

Do realize the last election was stolen. Trump has never conceded.
    And he never will.

I just hope that in a few years, Russians will not have to say "Wir haben es
    nicht gewueszt" ...

Trump's daddy spoke fluent German, but Donald is all about MAGA.
    English only, you understand?

failure to not having an answer! So yeah! Come one, come all!
    ALL TROLLS WELCOME!

Well, remove from this area the messages connected with me and you will see the dead area. ;-) Do you want to see it?

Been there. Done that. Got boring. Very quickly. No fun for anybody.

As for moving to another area, I have no much desire to discuss the things that have already been discussed not once. No sense. And if somebody wants my opinion don't be shy to ask here.

This has always been an open echo. As far as I can remember. The
previous editor was even more open-minded than the current editor,
going on record as editor saying handles and aliases should be
allowed in all Fidonet echoes, including the Fidonews. If that is
not a pro-troll position, I do not know what is.

In an open echo, such as the Fidonews, all topics should be open
for discussion. Choosing to present new subjects, or to participate
in a discussion is an individual choice, not one that is imposed on
    anybody.

No one, without exception, should be forced to leave such an echo.
Especially on fallacious claims of illegal activity (free speech is
    not a criminal act).

What is of general interest is something that is up to those who
participate in an echo. It is not up to me or any other individual
to decide what is to be that subject(s).

I can present a subject that I think might be of interest to others.
But it is up to others to decide what they find is of interest to them.

Current polls show President Vladimir Putin having an 83% approval
rate among the Russian people. Is this fake news? I'll let others use
whatever search engines they want and look up the details.

Maybe there is something news sources outside of Russia do not
want to talk about. Hmmm ...

To understand how a Tor user can be treated a citizen of Europe (or the
US) you need to read about Tor browser.

Some funny IT guys in Europe, for instance, have restricted access to
their sites for IPs from Russia. ;=)) Probably due to a total ignorance
they don't know that I can use Tor to download whatever I want. ;)

The military says about 27 sailors missed and 1 dead. I don't think it
is a lie for two reasons. First, it impossible to hide big numbers of
dead, second, the blow on the ship was local, and they even tried to tag
it to Sevastopol. But another matter when you open your eyes wider, to
see big numbers of killed, and 28 is not big enough.

Whatever ... after 15 days it is safe to say 28 dead then, if the numbers are correct these people are not going to show-up suddenly.

First, it impossible to hide big numbers of dead...

Russia's been doing it for over 2 months now ... lovely satellite images of mass burials...

the blow on the ship was local ..,

I don't know what you mean by that ... it sank a vessel that size ... the damage was obvious on the images.

But another matter when you open your eyes wider, to

You remind me of Stalin's words ... a person killed is terrible, a million people killed is a statistic.

A big military vessel, consists of isolated armoured compartments.
Sailors are like sitting in several tanks which standing next to each

The Moskva has .... ehr .... had .... only 50mm deck armour extending to the bow but not to the stern and only 50mm of side armour the length of the citadel. It was not a battleship and definitely poorly armoured. The armour was designed for classic gunnery. The citadel was not protected and there are ... ehr ...were ... no internal armoured compartments.

Its counter measures against low flying missiles were laughable and as such there are several design flaws. The more you read about that vessel, the more it becomes obvious it was a sitting duck when attacked..
