When I only get a week's vacation per year....

With but a week vacation each year, by all means you should spend it
with your parents....

We do get other days off, and around the Christmas holidays, will often
get three, maybe four days off, but that's hard to plan for. I usually
can't plan a trip during Christmas, until a few weeks before Christmas,
when "they" finally decide when we're closed for the holidays.

We actually have three holidays in that period, and when you take those GH>three working days out of a week, many companies end up closing for the GH>week.

*Sometimes* they decide around Thanksgiving, but like most anything else
around here, it's the "put it off until the last minute" style of
management. :-(

It must be heck waiting for them to decide like you have to....

It's "heck" for a lot of things. <G>

I was going to say that was plenty early until I remembered that you
guys are late with Thanksgiving, instead of celebrating it when you
should, in early October <GG>
