(Microsoft Security Essentials Cause a Lockup?)
More of a general shout-out than a Help! type of message. Any reports of
a problem from the update/download for Microsoft Security Essentials
this afternoon (March 30, 2010), occurred here at 2:24 p.m. Next logged
event is at 2:28:
Date: 3/30/2010 Source: Microsoft Antimalware
Time: 2:28:17 PM Category: None
Type: Information Event ID: 1013
User: N/A
Description:
Microsoft Antimalware has removed history of spyware and other
potentially unwanted software.
Time: ?2/?28/2010 2:28:17 PM
User: NT AUTHORITY/SYSTEM
The question marks in the date field seem odd to me, plus sort of
indicating February 28th rather than March 30th.
Anyway, was gone from the computer a while; came back and the think was
locked up: mouse would not wake up the monitor, no HDD activity, NumLock wouldn't toggle on/off. Had to do a power reboot (hold the ATX Switch
in).
LIS, more of a general "did this happen to anyone else".
