    Hi Ky!

Was looking around trying to figure out why I'm having Desktop lockups
but the mouse still moves over and Pithos still plays. (Newer issue
here -- appears is a problem that has been around for years over
multiple versions.) Anyway, found Ubuntu disables many of the magic
sysrq key combinations by default. (That ought to give Ky some more ammunition!!)
    My backpack is already full!

    Get a bigger backpack?!

Appears there might be some other options -- haven't tried as
fortunately no lockups to try on -- yet. Take a look at (and probably
    print out!!) at https://askubuntu.com/questions/783501/what-do-i-do- if-ubuntu-16.04-freezes-but-i-can-move-only-the-mouse

Try CTRL-ALT-ESC -- should make turn your mouse cursor into a
skull and crossbones. Now click the app you want to force-quit.
Rinse and repeat until the system unfreezes, or everything is
closed. Usually whatever app is on top is the culprit so killing
    it unsticks everything.

OK thanks - made a note and will see what happens next time.

    The Tagline got me curious.

NO!, I didn't PING it, I went to a IP lookup page and read it goes to
    a Network in Australia.

Barry, have You PINGed or TRACERTed it?

I'm Paranoid and wouldn't try seeing what it might do to my computer.
What did You find out? Thanks.

It belongs to an ISP in Australia, namely http://netspeed.com.au
It's probably a server, or maybe assigned to a DSL customer, because
trying to access it gets "connection refused".
