...Well, I haven't succumbed to the temptation yet to get a SATA drive. CM>...I've been wanting one of the high capacity (1TB or larger) drives for a CM>...while. Of course, like most things in life go, "the room you have, the CM>...more stuff you get". <G>

Have you seen those HD docks that connect to the computer via USB
SATA drives but like you, I still use IDEs and wondered if you use
a dock like this, or have seen one specifically for PATA/IDE.
Have you seen those HD docks that connect to the computer via USB
port and which allow you to easily hot swap HDs? They make 'em for
SATA drives but like you, I still use IDEs and wondered if you use
a dock like this, or have seen one specifically for PATA/IDE.
Thought maybe this would allow some more use out of all those
6-70gb HDs I have laying around but which are too small for any
serious computing.

I don't have one at the moment. But, I think Ky Moffet pointed out
that the drive doesn't last nearly as long as in a regular external
hard drive case. I forget the exact details, but the drives don't hold
up quite as long in a "hot swap dock" as they do in a regular case.
