I never heard of this one! But I like the premise as a kind of historical fiction told from the sidelines of would-be innovators.

Yes. I enjoyed it. I like historical fiction and the "would-be
innovators" bit is what got me interested in it.

I just finished the first episode. They kind of glossed over the part how they could get away with "cloning" the BIOS of the IBM/PC, but the episode ends with all the IBM lawyers arriving at Cardiff Electric walking into the boardroom. So, I hope episode 2 doesn't disappoint.

Two more episodes to go to finish season 2.

I'm now invested in the storyline and anxious to see where it goes.

Lined up next, the UK series, Humans.

That is another good one, although I liked the first season or two better
    than the most-recent one.

I am trying to settle into Humans but I am having difficulty. For one thing, the actors are not consistent in their robotic/synth behaviour. Some of the rogue synths seem to follow orders well (like the black guy with the white guy who is trying to find the stolen one), and others like the prostitute that just decided to operate and "escape" totally on her own. The other thing is the british accents of *some* of the actors. When those same actors mumble, it is worse.

Into 1st season episode 2, I am getting the impression that in that world there is a sub-industry of harvesting/stealing synths and reprogramming them for nefarious purposes? Is that basically it? And meanwhile, they explore the ethics and the notion of having those things working as slaves for humans?

That sounds about right. :) I think some of the inconsistent behavior
becomes more easy to understand later on... as with many other stories
about clones, robots, synths, etc., they start to have minds of their own
as time passes. They develop a sense of self, of self-preservation, etc.,
    like we do.

I finished S1 last night. I just couldn't watch that last 2 episodes in one sitting each.

The mumbling and poor articulation of some of the characters really bothered me. Most of the actors rarely opened their mouths properly to speak. I was saddened when they killed off the William Hurt character. I thought that his involvement into the early development of the synths and the background story of conflict with his scientist associates would have been interesting.

Westworld took a better approach. They didn't proselytise so much on the ethics/morals and artificial sentience/conscientiousness. They concentrated on the mystery of the creator, the secret of "maze", and the liberation or escape of the robots to the "outside".

I heard there was a Russian production based on human robots, Better Than Us. Gonna give that one a try.

Westworld is one of the best series I have had the opportunity to watch recently. I loved season 1. Season 2 was good... but the timeline shifting was very confusing. I think now that I'm done with it, I apprecate it a lot more then I did while watching it episode by episode. Season 3... enjoyed this a lot as well. But the ending made me sad. :-(

Watchmen is another series I recently watched, and enjoyed a lot more then I thought I would. The time shifting in this series was very well done, as opposed to the confusing mess that was Westworld Season 2. I went into this series thinking I wouldn't like it at all, but ended up really enjoying it. It's got a lot more going on then you might think.

That is one that sounded interesting to me. I do not have the channel/streaming service it is exclusive to, though.
