• Web Design Program

I have been doing web design for many years and have created sites for over 200
    customers.

I used to use a program called Microsoft Front Page. The beauty of this was that if front
page extensions were installed on the server, you could log directly into the server to do
your edits. Once saved, it went live.

Microsoft discontinued Front Page, but created a better version of it known as Microsoft
Expression Web 4. This too uses the front page extensions on the server so you can
also log in to do your edits.

Web Expressions 4 doesn't handle responsive web design all that well, but if you have a
good template, you can use it to create sites fairly well.

One good thing about it is that it checks to ensure your coding is correct.

I would still like to find the 'perfect' program, but this will do for now. I will never get
into WordPress. I want every page to have its own descriptive name and I don't think
you can do this with WordPress.

    Any feedback?

    Mike,

I would still like to find the 'perfect' program, but this will do for now. I will never get into WordPress. I want every page to have its
own descriptive name and I don't think you can do this with WordPress.

My HTML knowledge is VERY BASIC. I used the KISS (keep it short and
simple) philosophy. While not fancy, it allows those on slower connections
to not have to wait until after the cows have come home for the page to
    load.

The program I use is DIDA -- it's shareware, but I'm not sure if it can
    still be registered.

My personal homepage (http://www.wx4qz.net) was done with DIDA. The site that I edit for the Arkansas State Square Dance Federation (ASSDF), located
at https://www.arkansassquaredance.com -- is hosted on Wix...so it's edited online. However, I had problems with both Firefox and Chrome, working with it...so I used Microsoft Edge (under Windows 11). Plus, I waited until after midnight local time, when "traffic" was down a bit.
